Arts marginalised!

I was shocked at the short-sighted announcement by the Australian government that the cost of studying an arts degree will double. A three-year humanities degree will rise from about $20,000 to $43,500.

It's sad and it mirrors the underlying theme of my new book that the arts are being further marginalised in our schools. What sort of world are we creating?

A Cat Among the McIvers is an amusing and engaging story, but it carries a serious message.

Music, drama and art are all expressions of humankind. The arts assist in the understanding and sharing of culture as well as promoting social skills. They are vital to one’s sense of well-being and self-respect. They help us grow and learn!
